DopeEraMagazine Goes in the Ring with Bilal Mahasin

This was one of my favorite interviews from the start for two reasons: 1) Bilal Mahasin is a pro boxer (GBO Champion) who has been through a lot and uses what he's gone through to motivate others. His interview touched on a lot of things that really helped cement a good part of what Dopeeramagazine is really about. Yes we have fun, we love music, we let people smoke weed and snort coke on camera, we are totally uncensored. But it's about keeping things real and showing real life, and a major part of that which we wanted to show was motivating people who are trying to change their communities for the better. So a little preach with that entertainment is necessary. Just enough to not scare people away. Actually, I'd say we give you the game more than preach. 2) I got to go in the ring and have a pro boxer swinging at me! I love this kind of in the action filming. ThanksGiving GiveAway

Right, I'm so out of date that I'm talking about Thanksgiving and it's almost March. One day I will be caught up with these. Until then...... This was my first time filming one of Mistah Fab's giveaway events. I totally don't mind doing these, since they are filled with positivity which leaves you feeling like it was time well spent. Interview with Akintunde Ahmad

The start of this year involved so many interviews that it will take me forever catching up to post them all. This is actually one of my favorites. For one, it's a highly intelligent discussion between two straight A students, one in college the other in High School and they discuss the difficulties and possibilities of making it to higher education in a city like Oakland, CA. Oakland, CA is one of the most violent cities in America today. It has long had that reputation although now it is getting better it is still on the top ten list. Education is difficult for young students who want to succeed in this city. The schools have practically no budget for anything that the students need and some of the teachers become so discouraged they don't give any impression of caring towards the students. Akintunde Ahmad made big news a few years ago by getting a 5.0 GPA. He received many scholarships and chose to go to Harvard. The person interviewing him is actually my daughter, Naudik
